Next to be photographed is a glorious lineup of long skirts. If only we get some good sunshine! (I don’t have photo lights.) Waiting are: a Soft Surroundings astonishing mirror- covered, a Garnet Hill tiered dupioni silk, a Soft Surroundings shimmering taffeta with a unique fabric treatment, a Boston Proper season-spanning midi, a Soft Surroundings very flared and full knit maxi, and a stunning lavishly embroidered purple that I love so much I held it back for weeks while debating about keeping it.
Than there are the rare swirl maxi skirts with a hand-dyed Batik celestial print.
They are hard to find, because the pattern takes a lot of fabric. They are even harder to find done well, as the seams are curved and so likely to pucker if not sewn properly. But the finished effect of slimmer hips flaring out into a scalloped twirling bottom is so flattering!
