To keep warm through this chilly time, we have created a new original crochet garment. This is a one-of-a-kind (the yarn is no longer available) sweater jacket in the frosty pink of the delicate beginnings of a Winter sunset against the blue mountains.
I based the shape on a kimono, with wider straight sleeves, deep banding, and a V-neckline. Mom decided on a mesh-like stitch for the body. It is open enough to have drape but the fuzzy yarn fills in the little spaces so that it remains toasty warm.
We are already working on unique clothing items that can be worn now with a turtleneck and later with a light top.
I’ll continue wearing two pairs of socks, pulling my sweater tight around me, and sleeping in flannel sheets for some time yet. But I'm thinking Spring!
